Early age hydration of model slag cement: Interaction among C3S, gypsum and slag with different Al2O3 contents

چکیده
A deeper insight into SO3/Al2O3 ratio including the contribution of alumina in slag at early age is required to ensure a properly sulfated cement. In this paper, investigate effect gypsum and slag, emphasis was laid on hydration characteristics C3S-gypsum-slag system during age, which synthesized laboratory with varying Al2O3 contents from 3.69 18.19 wt%. The duration dormant period C3S depended content significantly; however, amount silicate reaction before onset aluminate independent chemistry added. rate controlled by availability reactants, SO42? Al3+ ions particular, were sourced respectively. Calcium monosulfoaluminate only occurred mixture when contained high (18.19 wt% study) its formation proceeded continuously expense ettringite. Sulfur rich species incorporated started participate after main peak C3S, it played similar role gypsum.

Microwave Study of Hydration of Slag Cement Blends in Early Period
Microwave technique were used to investigate the early hydration of slag cement with different slag percentages, different activators and different amount of activator. It is found that higher slag cement causes a higher dielectric constant E and a shorter induction period. But higher slag cement samples have very different electrical conductivity (3 compared with that of pure cement, their o c...
متن کاملSlag Hydration in composite cements
Despite reported synergies between alumina rich supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and limestone, previous studies have focused on up to 5% limestone content. Slag hydration in the presence of 10% limestone is reported in this paper. Hydration was followed through chemical shrinkage, calorimetry, thermal analysis, electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. The results show that ...
متن کاملMechanical and leaching behaviour of slag-cement and lime-activated slag stabilised/solidified contaminated soil.
Stabilisation/solidification (S/S) is an effective technique for reducing the leachability of contaminants in soils. Very few studies have investigated the use of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) for S/S treatment of contaminated soils, although it has been shown to be effective in ground improvement. This study sought to investigate the potential of GGBS activated by cement and lime...
متن کاملSimulation of Cement Grinding Process for Optimal Control of SO3 Content
Cement is produced by co-grinding clinker, gypsum and other components defined in the Cement Standards like limestone, pozzolans, fly ash and slag. The grinding is usually performed in horizontal ball mills. Gypsum is typically the basic source of sulphates (SO3) in the cement. The effect of gypsum on the cement quality is critical and twofold. It affects two of the main properties of this prod...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Optimum Usage of Slag for the Compressive Strength of Concrete
Ground granulated blast furnace slag is widely used as a mineral admixture to replace partial Portland cement in the concrete industry. As the amount of slag increases, the late-age compressive strength of concrete mixtures increases. However, after an optimum point, any further increase in slag does not improve the late-age compressive strength. This optimum replacement ratio of slag is a cruc...
